Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that deals with first principles, or the unseen origins of things. Metaphysics seeks to explain the nature of being or reality, and the origin and structure of the universe. There are two known types of metaphysics: ontology and cosmology.
- Ontology: deals with questions about the ultimate nature of things.
- Cosmology: deals with how these unseen things in the world are organized.
